Idra Realtanam is the leader of the village Naiah and everyone’s Grandma. Pure of heart and spirit and strength, she is sensitive and kind, full of stories and song. She has an -ism for everything and the whole village tries to live her advice to the fullest. A master storyteller, she has kept the tradition alive in Naiah for over a hundred years.

Idra's Wisdom

  • Hands in pockets when you’re in the stores, otherwise you’ll break something.[1]
  • You got to start where you can start. [1]
  • When you meet new people don’t steal their stuff.[2]
  • A graveyard’s only creepy if you’re afraid of ghosts.[2]
  • Ghosts are great because they were people once.[2]
  • We got to keep an eye on nature.[3]
  • If you don’t try, then you’re never gonna win.[4]
  • You got to wrangle a few sheep to stay warm in the winter.[5]
  • Sometimes it’s okay to just have done an okay job. If you’re expecting a great job every time then the bar just keeps getting set higher and higher for yourself.[6]
  • If you like someone you shouldn’t tease them.[6]
  • If you’re looking for something special, then you’re going to miss all the special things that are already around you.[7]
  • When you have things you like looking at you should have people over so they might like looking at them too.[8]
  • You got to judge what a person looks like by what a person looks like inside.[8]
  • Lying to other people is like lying about a version of yourself that nobody wants to exist.[9]
  • If you’re with a group of people to not split up from them because bad things happen when you split your party.[9]
  • There’s always time for a party.[10]
