The Many Pennies travel to the leyline of Necromancy in order to save the recently murdered Asher. While there they met the ruler of the leyline and apparently death incarnate. The Death Lord is a the first of the Mindflayer siblings that the party has encountered and spoken with. He explains to them that when you die he absorbs your essence and pushes it it out as magic to the other leylines. The party makes a deal with The Death Lord Keth promises his soul in exchange for Asher's. Keth's soul is bound to the pendant of Necromancy that Asher wears. The pendant allows the souls of the dead to flow through into into the leyline as its the only way through now that the leyline has been closed. Due to the binding of Keth's soul to the pendant if he were to die Asher would die and the tunnel to Necromancy would stop working.
